Pickup zones in Mostar

The Old Town in Mostar is pedestrian-only. The bridge area, the Kujundžiluk bazaar, and most of the streets within 200 metres of Stari Most have no vehicle access — that constraint shapes how every Mostar pickup actually works. Our drivers do not park in the pedestrian zone or attempt to navigate it; instead, we use one of three established pickup points within 1-3 minutes walk of most Old Town accommodations.

The east-side pickup is the Hotel Eden turnaround, just off Maršala Tita street, closest to Stari Most for guests staying on the Muslibegović side. The west-side pickup is the Hotel Bristol lay-by, suitable for accommodations on the Cernica side or near Spanish Square. The third option is the Spanish Square car park itself — paid public parking, neutral pickup point that works for either side of the river. Your driver confirms which one matches your hotel by WhatsApp the evening before departure.

For accommodations outside the pedestrian zone — most of Rondo, the Hotel zone (around Hotel Mepas), or the suburbs — we drive to the lobby door. Same vehicle, same driver, no walking required. Tell us your exact address at booking; we know the city and route without needing detailed instructions.

Border crossings & route logistics

Cross-border realities

Mostar to Dubrovnik and Mostar to Split both cross into Croatia at the Doljani/Metković border post. Since the Pelješac Bridge opened in 2022, the Dubrovnik route uses a single border crossing rather than the old double-crossing through the Neum corridor — the modern routing is faster and more predictable. We can still pass through Neum on request (15-minute coffee-stop add) for guests who specifically want to see the BiH coastal stretch.

Border processing at Doljani typically takes 15 to 45 minutes. Summer weekends (especially Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings) push toward the upper end. Since April 2026, the EU EES biometric registration adds 10-15 minutes for non-EU/EEA passengers on their first Croatia entry. We build the slow-day reality into the schedule rather than promising best-case times.

Mostar to Medjugorje and Mostar to Sarajevo both stay within Bosnia. No border, no passports needed. The Mostar-Sarajevo run via the Neretva canyon is one of the most scenic two-hour drives in the Balkans; we can add stops at Konjic (Ottoman bridge), Jablanica (WWII museum), or Boračko Lake at fixed surcharges if you want to break up the drive.

Optional stops en route

Most Mostar transfers can be extended with a working stop at a Herzegovina destination, priced as a per-vehicle add-on rather than per person. The most popular: Kravica Waterfalls on the Mostar-Dubrovnik run (+30 min, +€25), Blagaj Tekija on Mostar-Medjugorje (+30 min, +€25), and Pocitelj fortress village on Mostar-Dubrovnik (+30 min, +€25).

The driver waits with the vehicle during your stop — luggage stays locked in the boot. Realistic stop duration depends on what you intend to do: 30-45 minutes for a photo stop and walk, 60-90 minutes for a swim at Kravica, 30 minutes for a coffee at Blagaj. Tell us at booking which stops you want; we adjust the schedule so you arrive at your destination on time.

Common questions

Mostar transfer FAQ

The Old Town is pedestrian-only, so for Old Town accommodations the pickup point is the nearest accessible road — typically the Hotel Eden turnaround, the Hotel Bristol lay-by, or the Spanish Square car park, all within 1-3 minutes walk of the Stari Most pedestrian bridge. For hotels outside the pedestrian zone (Rondo, Hotel zone, Cernica), we drive to the lobby door. Your driver confirms the exact pickup spot by WhatsApp the evening before.

2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes pickup-to-dropoff in the upper range, depending on border queues. Since the Pelješac Bridge opened in 2022, the route uses one border crossing at Doljani/Metković instead of the old double-crossing through Neum. EU EES (active since April 2026) adds 10-15 minutes for non-EU/EEA passengers on first crossing. Add 30 minutes for a Kravica or Pocitelj stop.

Most of our Dubrovnik-Mostar transfers now bypass Neum entirely via the Croatian mainland route through Pelješac. We still pass through Neum if you specifically want a coffee stop on the BiH coast (15-minute add) — many guests do, since Neum is an interesting brief stretch of Bosnian Adriatic. Otherwise, the modern route skips it.

2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes, single border crossing. The route runs west on the M-17, crosses into Croatia at Doljani, then north along the Adriatic coast through Makarska to Split. Summer peak adds 20-30 minutes. Border control on this route is usually faster than Doljani-to-Dubrovnik because the traffic flow splits more cleanly.

There is no vehicle access into the Old Town pedestrian zone. We use one of three drop points — Hotel Eden turnaround on the east side (closest to the bridge from the east), Hotel Bristol lay-by (closest from the west), or the Spanish Square car park (paid public parking, 5-minute walk to the bridge). The driver confirms which works for your specific accommodation when we coordinate the pickup.

Yes — same-day round trip is straightforward. Driver picks you up in Dubrovnik, drives 2.5 hours to Mostar, waits while you spend 3-5 hours in the Old Town, then drives you back. Long day, but realistic. We typically build in a Kravica or Pocitelj stop on one leg to break up the driving. Better executed as overnight when possible.

Cash payment to driver works in EUR or BAM (Bosnian convertible marks). Cash gets a small discount. Card payment is online via Monri at booking time. ATMs at Spanish Square and Stari Most area both work with international cards and dispense BAM. Outside the touristic zones, BAM is preferred over EUR for small purchases.

Yes. The fixed price covers all tolls, the Pelješac Bridge transit (currently free), border processing, fuel, and parking at dropoff. EES biometric registration on first Croatia entry is processed at the border by Croatian authorities — we factor the wait into the timing buffer but it is not an additional fee.
